Stay With Me

Poetry

Human identity is formed by feeling. The way the heart works make us who we are. It stores and strengthens memory, establishes wisdom through both pain and pleasure, makes connections with other humans – bonds of the heart. It teaches us the beauty of love.

After all, life starts and ends with a heartbeat.

In this collection, Stacy Nicholson explores her own heart, drawing us with the transparent vulnerability of her own memory into the depths of darkness, into the death of past selves, and into the bright, bittersweet light of hope.

Nicholson opens her heart to love. This is the universal experience of what it is to be fully human and of what it is to dream. Let Nicholson’s compassionate words turn on a light in your mind, welcome you home, and give you hope.

I finished reading Stacy Nicholson’s poetry book “Stay With Me”. Stacy’s book is full of intense burning metaphors of love and passion and intimacy—words that come from truly being “into” a person. She writes about the attraction and bond between a man and a woman, deep in love with each other and the obsession and connection people can have.

If you read one of her poems and close your eyes you can almost imagine being in the moment of elation she is writing about.
